Greasy hair is really quite a common problem, I to suffered from this and had to wash my hair everyday, however I stopped using conditioner with each shampoo thinking that I was doing the right thing and was told by my hairdresser that all hair types of hair need conditioner. The problem was, I was using to much conditioner and putting my hands through my hair to much also. You are only supposed to use with both shampoo and conditioner a 5 - 10 pence amount (I was using a lot more) as to much shampoo is as bad as to much conditioner. Try out Redkin shampoo for greasy hair or any greasy hair shampoo but stick to the amount mentioned.
Why don'y you try out a dry shampoo like batiste dry hair shapoo or a treatment to strip all excess build up from products from your hair
I do hope this helps. Good Luck

A lot of people I know have to wash their hair every day in order to maintain a non-greasy look, and it doesn't damage their hair.
I have to wash mine everyday to keep it clean, and have only had to do this over the past few years. Fortunately it hasn't caused any damage to my hair at all, but I have always ensured I have used a good conditioner every time I was my hair (herbal essences never fails!.)
Try these though if its not suitable to wash it every day -
Don't over shampoo your hair - over working the roots of your hair will cause the oil glands to produce more oil making the scalp appear greasier, but ensure when washing your hair your gently clean all over your scalp.
Condition only the roots of your hair - conditioner will make hair appear greasy if it gets anywhere near your roots. Keep it to the ends of your hair as much as possible. Use a shampoo for damaged hair if your roots are still damaged.
Try not to play with the roots of your hair too much, again it will stimulate the oil glands and make it look greasy! This includes playing with it throughout the day, and also blasting a hot hair dryer on the roots wont help either! If possible tie it back to prevent movement in the hair, stopping any grease spreading to the rest of the hair.
hope that helps!

Maybe the problem is you are not washing it enough! Try washing your hair everyday and not brushing or touching your head as much. We have oils in are hands that will help make your hair greasy if you touch your hair also. An also change your shampoo every week. Never use the same shampoo for to long because it can cause build up which won't wash away if you are use the same shampoo. Try using a different shampoo every week. And don't use a deep conditioner. Conditioner is for people who have rough or unmanageable hair. I don't live in the uk but here in the States a good shampoo called Tresmme is good for not making your hair greasy!

Sometimes greasiness is caused by overcompensation: Your scalp thinks there is not enough moisture in the garden, so it turns on the hose and saturates the ground. Overcome this by using plenty of conditioner. You might want to invest in a really cheap one, because if your hair is long it could take a quarter of a bottle. On the days that you don't shampoo your hair, apply only the conditioner then rinse it out thoroughly. This might trick your scalp into thinking there is already enough moisture, and no need to water the plants.
When I shampoo, I concentrate on the scalp and only graze the ends. When I use conditioner, I reverse it, concentrating on the ends and only grazing the scalp.

I have struggled with greasy hair too. Its not bad at all to wash your hair everyday. In fact, I would suggest it because every 2 days seems way too long to leave oily hair dirty. Also, I would suggest using a shampoo for oily hair such as Head and Shoulders (even if you dont have dandruff) or if you go to a salon, they could probably give you information on what would work best for you personally. I hope I have answer you question!! Good Luck!

A quick tip for a frequent washer of hair, is to not wash for up-to-five days, and elough the natural oils of your hair to work...
You wash your hair then, and it will be less greasy and more greasy.

Don't worry about washing your hair every two days or even every day. I used to wash my hair in the shower with shampoo and conditioner every day, and it was fine.
If your hair still gets greasy, perhaps try brushing it less, or making it into a hairstyle in the morning and then hairspraying it into place (so you don't have to disrupt it for the rest of the day). Good luck.
