i love my birds so much, they are better than any human. whenever i am feeling down they are the only souls around to make me feel better. my social life is pretty much nonexistent, so when my parents suggest the idea of spending christmas day without the birds, i choose to stay at home with my birds instead of being with my family.
these birds are an integral part of my life and it's hard enough going to work without them

I have never met a pet bird, that wanted to go somewhere, and leave his human behind!!! Likewise my parrot doesn't talk about me, argue with me, or leave me for another human, or try to sleep with my girlfriend---what better of a friend for life could you possibly have??? Birdman

I'm also a bird person and love them dearly. I've even bought seats for them on aircraft so I could fly with them across country so they (or is it I ?) wouldn't be alone. Even so, I think you need to examine what the birds mean to you. The reason I say this is because you said your social life is pretty much nonexistent and that's not good for you. Reading through the lines your parents may be gently suggesting it. too.

Get a traveling cage and take them with you to your parents if you must.

I put my bird before my family. Too bad we can't pick our relatives. My mother just ruined Christmas, but hey she stabs me in the back all the time so I guess it's really no great loss. Now she and her husband will not come over as my depression deepens. All my bird wants to do is cheer me up.When has a human ever cared? Now I will search for compassionate and kind people. They must be out there. Make others your real family.Just keep being kind to others and I bet they will find us.Have a tweet Christmas.

They should bring additional happiness to your life, not your only happiness. You sound like a somewhat depressed person. Having a lack of friends is not healthy. I understand how your birds make you feel and that's marvelous, but they can't replace humans for companionship. Please, if you believe what I've said is true, talk with your doctor, many people suffer from depression, getting help will only help you to appreciate them even more and others as well.

Pets do help us to feel better, but if you come from a loving and supportive family you need to investigate why you prefer the birds to your family.

You are not alone. Many people feel closer to their animals than they do to their families and other counterparts.

i think that your pets should be put up there just like your family members are. for they did not ask you to take them in and feed them.
