i have a book of birds and it is really big the bird is either the Carolina wren the common grackle or the Eastern,western bluebird i hope this helps although i may be wrong

Could have been a bluebird, Western or Eastern depending on your location. They do have orange chests, and look either very dull brownish to vibrant blue (maybe sort of lavendar) depending on what kind of light you see them in. Here is a picture:

You might look it up in a bird book. There are so many varieties, it is hard to say without seeing the bird.

Google a Baltimore Oriole picture and see if that is the bird you saw.
