Once she is 16 it is no longer statutory rape so she can have sex if she wants. In Florida at least I think there is a 5 year gap that is allowed if one of the partners in the relationship is under 18. Personally however the boy could just like your daughter and not want anything like that. He is no different than a fellow 16 year old male. I think you should talk to her and let her know that you are concerned for her future. It is not against the law for them to be together so is all i can do is wish you luck. Merry Christmas and good luck.

I don't understand the problem. Your little girl is growing up. Talk to her about birth control and keep the lines of communication open. An 18 year old dating a 16 year old is not against the law. If you want to completely alienate your daughter, you can have him charged with statuatory rape, but, realistically, a judge will not charge him if she is consenting and they have been dating awhile.

Lock your daughter in her bedroom. She can have sex just has quickly with an underage boy than she can have with an 18 yr old. I recommend you make sure that she is aware of the protection that is available to her. A lawsuit or filing charges on the 18 yr old will not stop a pregnancy. It never has and it never will.

No, it's not against the law. You can find the relevant statute at www.oscn.net. In Oklahoma, for it to be a crime your daughter would have to be 14 or younger and the young man would have to 18 or older.

Age of consent is 16 in Oklahoma, so that relationship is not againts the law. The only thing you can do is talk to your daughter.

Whatever you do, GET A CLUE, ask a local law enforcement person. Doesn't have to be your child in the story situation. And second, please, don't forbid her forcefully, females are so contrary and she may take action just to spite you.
TALK with your child and find out what she thinks is so great about this guy, ask her about his friends, who does he hang with?
Ya know you might even ask about his parents.
Be there for your child and make sure she knows, you are not ready to lose her to a teenage pregnancy or AIDS. The RISKS are out there.

Sit down and talk with her.
And why is your daughter dating an 18 year old in the first place?

16 is the "age of consent" and there is really nothing that you can do about it. the only thing is to talk to her about sex and get her on birth control pills. that seems to be the only option. you could not let her see him, but then she will just sneak behind your back, so i don't think that is a good option.

What you could do is ask the town governer. Or you could even ask a family member. That might help. Tell your daughter that she cannot see him any more! That will be a big help!!
