First, Christians only assume that the Serpent in the garden was Satan. Eastern thinkers (and Judaism is Middle Eastern) may tend to identify the serpent with kundalini, much like the serpent on the rod Moses used to heal the people later in the text. Second, Adam and Eve in the garden can be seen as a metaphor for humanity living in unity with the divine. Eating of the fruit brought them out of unity into duality (good and evil), so the death was spiritual, not physical. It is the ego, identified with both the divine on one side and the world on the other, that blocks the way back to paradise. This is symbolized in the story by the Cherubims and the flaming sword blocking the way back into Eden. It is in overcoming the ego and reaching enlightenment that we gain access to the tree of life, and realize our full oneness with the divine.

God did not lie, Adam and Eve did die. After they ate from the tree, God questioned Adam and Eve, gave them clothes, then ejected them from paradise, and set some cherubim and a flaming sword thing to guard the tree of life so that they could no longer eat from it and live forever. They are now dead. If they had not disobeyed they would still be alive now.

God told Adam & Eve that in the day that they eat the tree of "KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND BAD" they will positively die. They lived for 930 years, 1 day is 1000 years to God. They died during that time span. Satan decieved them into thinking that they would NOT DIE and they did. Unless you happen to see Adam or Eve around here. Let me know.

God did not lie. He meant that if they ate the fruit they would die to the truth. The truth is that everything that God provides for us is in our best interest, even if we don't happen to like it.
The lie was that god sees good and evil, he does not.
The idea of Satan is a misinterpretation of scripture.
In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

if Adam and Eve had not eaten the fruit they would have lived probably forever...and who knows what God had in store for them for he made us in his own image..but since they have eaten the forbidden fruit they did die, not immediately ..just as we all will die some day due to that action and the devil distorted the truth about the situation..that's why he is the king of all liars for we were already God-like since God himself gave man reign over all creatures on this planet

God told adam and eve they would die, but this does not mean they would die physically. Adam and Eve died spiritually. They gave into the sin in which they did not have before they ate the fruit. They hid from God because they knew they did something wrong. that is what we do when we sin. We hide. When you steal something you dont just go up and steal it, you sneak, because your afraid, and you know its wrong.

I can not argue for the truth here, but I can perhaps clear up a misinterpretation: When Adam and Eve were told they would not die, that was not intended to apply to their physical but rather their spiritual bodies.
Furthermore, knowing evil would then "make" them evil. They would not sin if they were ignorant of temptation.
Does that make sense? :-)

God told the truth. He told them they would die, and surely they did. Satan lied. He twisted the truth, he said they would not die IMMEDIETLY. But, alas, they are dead.

They could have lived forever if they would not have eaten the fruit. That is why everyone dies someday. God never lies.
