if you have a sitter, do a spa day. remember to reserve it now because once people get their spa day xmas gifts it will be rather hectic.
if you can't get a sitter then go to chucky cheese (or something like that) and act like one of the kids.
I remember 34. I was single too. But it was a great time in my life. Bet it would have been even better with kids to keep me company.
Happy Birthday

Theres tons you could do.
I know a lot of people enjoy "karting" or "kart racing". If you have a local track its really a lot of fun. It might be a little costly.
A lot of what you can do depends on where you are. If you live in the boonies, you could go fishing, and have a party by the river or lake. If you are in the "burbs" then you could go to a park.
You could get some of your friends to help "host a murder mystery" where each of you has roles to read, and you go to a different friends house for a different course of dinner.
If you live down south where its warm, (like phoenix) a couple carnivals set up shop here every winter (like santa-land) and you could do a carnival birthday. If you live near seaside heights, you could have a beach boardwalk birthday if its not too cold. It might be too cold.
It also depends on your boys. What do they love thats local? They might not be so into karts, but they might love skating and so a local skate park would be "da bomb" for them.

In Ohio we hasve a restaurant called Chuck-e-Cheese. These restaurants serve a great Pizza and have pleanty of games for the kids to play. The great thing is most of the games allow you to earn tickets to turn in for "prizes". Something like this would be fun for you AND for them. You might take them to a movie afterwards. There are a number of good movies for the younger crowd at this time. No matter what you choose, have fun!

If you can find a babysitter grab a couple of friends and go and have a manicure /pedicure / hairdo and go for a meal/drink in a restaurant you ahev never tried before. if you cannot get a babysitter invite a couple of friends plus kids round for a girly night in. Get popcorn burgers etc for kids and put them all upstairs with video /cartoons for the eveing while you get in the best takeaway you can afford with a couple of bottles of wine and 'The full Monty' downstairs with you and your mates.
