A well cared-for cat will last for about twenty years, some go on for a few more years. Mine had to be put down because of kidney failure at two months short of twenty years.
Happy Christmas!

A lot more than a battery hen.

So if you haven't yet got a cat - think again - and adopt a battery chicken (after 1 year of laying eggs they're exhausted and having been confined to a space smaller than your monitor screen; having never even experienced what it's like to scratch around in the dirt or see the sun; having never had a chance to show their true personality (and yes - they DO have them!) - they're culled).

So the best present you could give at christmas - and one that you will always be remembered for by your kids - is a gift of life.

Okay - it's too late to make it a Christmas present ... but it's certainly the one and only Christmas present the rescued chicken could ever wish for - better late than never!
