Check your V5 document. It tells you how many people can be legally seated in the car. If it's only 4 you can't add a seatbelt (the car wasn't designed for it) and should only ever have yourself and three passengers in it. If you're involved in an accident with 5 people in the car you will be prosecuted.

I have 5 c900 verts. I would only have 3 in the back if their combined weight was equal to 2 adults. That having been said, the anchors for the seat belts are under the seat. Just lift the forward edge of the rear seat. Slide the seat cushion towards the front of the car. You can either use the existing anchors or add new ones for the additional belt. Prior to 88 only lap belts were available for the rear. Get a Saab rear belt set for a 87 convertible.

If your car is a 1994 model then it is a 900, probably that which is known as a classic 900. It was engineered to accept only 2 passengers in the rear, hence only 2 seatbelts [Saab are reknowned for their safety features] and as such a centre lap belt will not be an option and possibly regarded by insurance companies as a reason to void cover in serious accident circumstances.

at least ina jeep they work. One can easily find the floor. Not sure in a SAAB. Usually, drill a hole put bolt through body, put some caulk or shoo goo around it and it is water tight and will make a place for the belt. Not sure though in a SAAB if there is a way to snake through trunk etc. In a jeep it was easy, just floor to seat. other problem is shipping from US

Though it is not a good idea to add seating where it is not susposed to be................you can unbolt the female ends of the belts (toward the center of the seat) and add a lap belt on top of them and bolt it back in. This likely is not legal, but better than nothing at all.

It's probably not legal. Cars are rated for a certain number of passengers. If you exceed that you are in violation of the law. However if you're stopped and each occupant is belted in I'd seriously doubt that you'd be cited.
