It doesnt mean their prayers were not heard or even answered. We have a principal at work here freedom of choice. In addition we know that one can be lead away by their lusts. Further the one who fell has not understood that the battle is in the mind.
Our falls start with the mind. When that particular thought raises its head we need to combat it or cast it down stating what God has said about the thought or situation. This is how Adam and Eve fell. We must cast down every thought that raises it self above the word of God. This is the overcoming and the path in victory.

LOL. I used to go to a Pentecostal church, a VERY evangelical one, at that, and I was always so creeped out by that. So one day I decided to go up and be prayed for, and the guy shoved me backwards by my forehead and someone caught me and laid me down. I was wide awake, but I kept my eyes closed because I was ten and I thought I'd get in trouble if I didn't. I stopped going not long after. The dude frigging hurt my head with his Jesus Power.

Where exactly did they "Fall" to and why were you praying for them in the first place?
You're still on this mortal earth, so you have no clue what happened after they "passed on" (if that is what 'falling' means).

Because of the sin of Adam and Eve,we,as their descendents inherited sin and inperfection from them.As a result we are born sinners.
We have also been given the gift of free will.
Praying for someone does not guarantee their salvation.
It is up to each of us to try to live our lives in harmony with God's righteous principles.

We are inherently imperfect and inherently sinful. To practice what is right is to go against the grain. And that is a difficult thing to do.

Because God allows freewill, and even if you pray for a person, it will help, but ulitmately it is their choice.
