Maybe. But it's bound not to last for long.

No, its impossible. Look at all the celebrities, they are proof that money can not by happiness. Their lives are empty and many are falling apart and many others have turned to drugs and alcohol.
Most people put on a happy front, they go through life pretending to be happy and having it all together.
When I used to go to AA all the time before I became a Christian, and by the way, recovering from drugs and alcohol was one of the hardest things I've ever done and it took being in long-term treatment for the 2nd time when I was 30, and then even after putting my 16 year old into treatment, we would go around doing what's called the 90/90. Ninety meetings in ninety days. We would come out from some AA meetings more depressed than when we had gone in. I even tried some of the ones called Holy Rollers or other spiritual groups, but it was all the same. These people were moaning about how miserable they were after 5 or 20 years of sobriety and these were people who prayed to God everyday.
It wasn't until I became a Christian that I understood what was missing from their lives - Jesus Christ. You cannot get to God unless you first go thru his son, Jesus Christ. That is the only way a person can have a relationship with God.
I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm forcing "religion" down your throat, I'm just stating truth and yes, you can say, its truth as I know it to be. But there is only one truth, either Jesus Christ is needed for eternal life or He isn't.
Christ is the way for true eternal deep lasting happiness and it doesn't mean as a Christian we will always be laughing with no problems, I'm very sad this Christmas, but I have peace and joy in my heart knowing Truth and I don't have to go thru life constantly searching for answers or pretending to have it all together.

But how could we imagin that there is no God.
There is some one who created the Universe and every thing of the world even the human's brain by which they can search the truth. Every thing in the universe- the sun, the moon, the stars- have all completely subjugsted themselves to His will; they cannot make the slightest deviation from the path God has ordained for them. Similarly, all other elements in nature function in obedience to the law of nature laid down for them by their Maker.
So how could we be happy only with money without analysing the God. God the Lord of the universe.

I would be able to amuse myself for a short time but money wouldn't bring me lasting happiness any more than believing in a non-existent God would.

my husband and I are struggling financially because he is permanently disabled. Sometimes we wish that we can have a little more money, and we both could be healthier, I struggle with a chronic illness, but that does not equate happiness. JOY is deep seated and always there with God. Happiness is fleeting.

No, not necessarily!
many millionairer report that they are not happy.
and there are others that think getting better highs come from obtaining power, which is completely elusive, in my opinion.
However, christians cannot claim to be the most happy either, nor jews or muslims. because with responsibility and indebtedness into religious faiths, many people claim to be miserable more than others.

only superficially. the only way you can truly be happy is if you soul and spirit are content, not just your mind. if you have a strong relationship with God, then you can be the poorest man in the world and still relish in living.

Not neccesarily. Neither money, nor a god, makes happiness.

no. never. there is a quote from jan karon's "out to canaan" that says that there is a god- shaped hole in a persons heart that only he can fill, and nothing but god can ever fill that hole. money has little or no purpose when it comes to happiness (though shopping is fun). so no. never.
