If you can't talk to them and discuss your concerns nicly, leave them a note asking politely that they scoop the poop. It won't do you any good to be nasty about it - you could be stuck with them as neighbors for years.
If you prefer to be indirect or passive aggressive, buy them a pooper scooper, tie a bow on it and leave it outside their door with an anonymous note welcoming them to the neighborhood.
In my city, there is actually a law that you need to clean up after your dog outside of your own yard and since it's communal property it seems that would constitute a public place. So, if nothing else works file a complaint with your condo board or landlord and get as many other neighbors on board as you can.

Have you asked the owners of the dogs to address the problem? It may be a good idea *if only because you need to be able to say you TRIED to handle this w/ out going up the ladder*? It may be adequate to knock on the door, and say something like "Hello, I've noticed some dog poo recently, and I'm sure it was overlooked by accident, can you please make sure the doggie doesn't leave a mess?" OFcourse they are likely to be rude to you or ignore you all together, but like I said, when you go to the board of your townhouse, you have to be able to say you tried. Certainly there will be a prcess by which you can make complaints about other people in your complex. Do you have a association? If they have ignored your complaints, attend a meeting and ask to have the dog poo issue put on the agenda. If that fails, follow your lease agreement up the chain of command. Don't back down, and certainly don't stop inviting people over. Dog poo is no reason for you to miss out on your social life. If all else fails, and the poo is INSIDE the building, call the health dept to complain.

Ok , they are are new ...I know that's not an excuse but perhaps they have never lived in a condo/ apartment situation before.
They may be clueless !
I would NOT approach them yourself ... this will only cause bad blood and they will be your neighbor for at least a few years. I would discretely take a few pictures and write a letter of complaint to the condo board. DO NOT TALK TO OTHER UNIT OWNERS about this cause they will gossip it back to these people and you don't want trouble you just want them to be cleaner about their dog.
The people here telling you to talk them have obliviously not owned a condo ...simple talk does not go over well most of the time ..avoid starting a war if you can ! Good luck and hang in there !

Pretty much just like your first answerer says. Get with the condo association & the person in charge there. There may actually be rules that these people are breaking and if there is not, there should be. I wouldn't even talk to these dog owners about it because it would just cause tension between you and them. Since they have no respect, chances are they will ignore you or possibly be defensive. It is not your responsibility to discuss it with these disgusting doggie people. The association has to put up signs on lawns or revise wording in contracts & they can do this. They do revisions all the time. OMG, can't these people pick up after their dog !?!?!? They should be ashamed. Don't let up on the condo association. Ride them till they do something about it !!!

Hold on! You have a few options. The first one I would suggest is to actually meet the people with the dog. They could turn out to be fantastic neighbors. Explain to them, nicely, that you'd appreciate if they'd scoop the poop! Or, be more forceful in complaining to your HOA. You pay fees, so part of those fees are a basic right to not step in poo. Or, you can always, .ughs, get the exercise of cleaning it up, yourself! Finally, you could make little signs that say "free fertilizer' and stick them where all the poo is! Seeing lots of little signs would bring home how much there is!

Maybe first you should ask them if they care to take their dog further away from the Condo to do it's business. If that doesn't work, I'd be calling the landlord every freaking day until I got something done about it.
It's really not worth paying out huge sums of money to live someplace and have to put up with something like that on a daily basis.
That's a load of, er....pardon the pun....but crap! Good Luck with it!

First i would suggest that you try to speak to them in a nice way.. Explain that for health reasons they should pick up there dogs poop..I know there has to be rules for living there, i would read them and see if anything applies to this situation. If you can get no where with your neighbors , I would proceed to talking with management of property...after all I am sure you pay good money to live there and should not have to watch where you step or smell that..Most people do not have common courtesy towards others and this is one example..Good luck

I'm actually going through the same thing with my neighbors dog. I think this dog is mixed with labadore and Rottweiler so it is a pretty good size. He'll come and lay on my lawn like it's his home and even bark at my picture window when we're in the living room. My first instinct is to let the neighbor know to keep their dog out of my yard because he's pooping on it, but that may just start an uproar, so I've decided to just call the pound so that way they won't know who reported it and that will solve the problem.

would take some sacrifice of sleep on your section, yet its obtainable. Get your little self up an more desirable 40 5 minutes early- chug your espresso and take the canines for a effective 30 minute walk. in my opinion, I even haven't any objection to crating the canines once you're at artwork, see you later as they get countless interest and exercising. Then, once you get domicile, they get yet another lengthy walk, cool down, then dinner and play time plus a potty smash basically previously mattress. in the journey that they are typically relied on, you may leave them out of the crates at evening. once you get settled in and get to attraction to close your associates, perchance you may employ a to blame youngster interior the progression to take them for somewhat smash at mid day- the highschool youthful ones round me get domicile through 2:30- should be a lot low priced than a "specialist" canines walker. i'd difficulty maximum about the JRT- they have a lot ability, and could be quite devious at the same time as left to amuse themselves- so its as a lot as you to help him burn it up, and substances him jobs to do---effortless obedience, cover his toys and make him locate them, possibly do somewhat agility or rally on the weekends.

if your condo allows pets - you're kinda screwed. maybe try asking other neighbors what they think, and all of you can confront the problem as a group. check your lease/contract - see what it states about pets and property maintenance. are you part of a co-op? do you rent or own? are there ordinances on "pet poop" in the city you reside in?
