Either give him the receipt or offer to go with him and exchange it to something else he'd rather have. I usually just ask my husband if there is anything he wants/needs and he does the same. We give each other a list or options. This way everybody is happy. Good Luck and happy holidays!

keep the receipt...
...if you have doubts tell him after he opens it that you have a receipt in case he wants to change it..that way he'll get what he wants and I'm sure since he;s a guy he won't care about The emotional trash behind returning his gfs' gift..
