Blinking for a bit afterward for 10 seconds usually stops it, but it's really annoying. Why is this?

i used to have it and sometimes i still get it! the reason normally for this is because you are either working to hard or just tired. Sometimes it is also because you are looking at too many pixel-ed things aka TV, PC and other things like that. Also reading in the dark or small print too closely will make them water. Another good way is washing your eyes out every morning with cool water and clean hands also i would suggest changing your flannel because in your face flannel are a lot of things that can cause an infection and also make your eyes water. I would try to blink more often so that your eyes don't water. Normally if you do a few eye stretchments this also helps. Closing your eyes and rolling them around is a good example. If they keep watering like this then i would contact your optician!

happy to help

One study has concluded that people generally dont blink their eyes as often as is desirable. Blinking in involuntry but due to long hours working on Computer closely, watching television for long hours, even long hrs of reading very small text people generally tend to break the natural way of blinking. this may be one of the causes of ur watery eyes.
u can try this every morning or anytime during day find some two minutes for eye exercises- fast blinking, slow roration in circles, up-down, side to side movement of eyes.
also wash ur eyes regurly with clean cold water. try to get Gulab-jal(rose water) from medical store. two drops of this is very relaxing.
during long hours of PC work take some time away from ur PC.

if pollution is the reason rose water is best solution.

last resort is to consult an optician, he may recommend u spects of 0.25 diopters wich is as good as no spects that will help.

It could be that there is something in your eye. Try using an eye cleanser. If that doesn't work, try pulling your top eye lash and pull it over your eye ball to the bottom of the other eye lash, it should make your eye water and whatever is in there will come out with tears.
One more thing to.. It could be an eye lash that is growing inward to your eyes. Try fulling out that lash and when it regrows, it will start water again or will grow outwards like the rest.

You may have blocked tear ducts, the only way to find out is to visit an optician;
