I whip the softened butter, then run it thru a pastry bag equipped with a floret tip. Put onto waxed paper and chill. They will lift right off.

soft butter, whip it ia mixer until it's really fluffy (use high quality butter if possible) and put in ziplock bag, cut tip, slight squeeze, and make design. experiment first so you get the hang of it. or do a whole bunch of little dots to make a flower.
