15 years ago, i helped an aunt and a younger brother set my oldest brother up for a fraud crime. What we did is simply make a police report that he'd stolen money from my mother's life insurance policy. He paid for all the funeral and medical bills, did just what the will said to do. He didn't keep very accurate records, and couldn't prove he'd paid the balance of her estate to me and my brother he paid with cash and didn't ask for a receipt.

He ended up being convicted and although he never had any previous convictions he was sent to prison and served the entire sentence of 7 and a half years.

My co- conspirators and i had asked the prison to prevent outgoing mail & phone calls to the family we provided a list of the entire family along with addresses.
He lost his wife, she divorced him. he lost his business, and was financially ruined.

Many of the family have tried to contact him to reconcile and he refuses to speak to any of us. How can we fix this?

He was homeless for several weeks, after his release from prison. We were too busy to be at the prison on his release date. He won't accept any assistance from anyone. He lives in a dingy apartment. He doesn't have much earning capacity now due to the conviction. He won't accept any assistance from anyone period. He's very angry. While in prison his wife divorced him and remarried and the courts allowed her new spouse to adopt his children. He hasn't seen his kids in years. I think he's being a Sh*t about all this and should accept a few dollars from us atleast.

The statute of limitations has run on this, the state can't touch any of us with criminal charges. None of us feel we need to go tell the cops what we did.

I don't believe this situation could ever be fixed. I doubt your brother will ever reconcile with any family member. I can't imagine being locked up in prison with no contact from anyone for that length of time. It must have been ruthlessly painful for him to go day after day with no support from the outside.

If this would have happened to me, I would surely sever all ties with family members. I'd never trust another human being again as long as i lived. Never again in a thousand lifetimes would i trust anyone.

You must have alot of guilt over what you did. If i were you i'd start praying that God won't send you and your other conspirators to spend eternity in the fires of hell for what you have done.

It would have been more humane for your brother if he'd had died early on in prison without having to experience the loss of what appears to have been a very successful happy life.

I truly feel for him. I can't imagine how you and your family live with what you have done to this man. Stay away from him let him live out his days in peace.

With family members like you, who needs enemies?

You, your brother and an aunt set up your older brother for fraud and he gets convicted and does the full time?

You ruin his life, the life of his wife? Therefore he refuses to speak to any of you and reconcile and now you wonder why? AND you want to fix this?

I would say it's a little too late to fix anything. You ALL should have done more and thought about the results before you went and back-stabbed him and devastated his life.

You all got what you wanted, didn't you? If that was what you wanted why do you want to be in communication with him now? So you can do more damage to him and his life? With family like you, who needs enemies?

You should have contacted an estate attorney before you contacted the police. Just leave him alone now, your dirty deed cannot be undone.

What you have done to him is just as bad as what you accused him of doing.

Give him back his 7-1/2 years, his business and his wife, restore his reputation and have the conviction expunged. What, are you nuts? You can't fix that, you're lucky he doesn't put a hit out on you. You ruined his whole life and for what? What kind of person would do that to his own brother? I don't even know you, and I hate you too!

The operating "word" is... he "paid" you!

So, you sent him up, on false charges, because you were suckered by your Aunt???

Uh, if you "ever" get to talk to him, you will be extremely lucky! Lets face it, YOU, your AUNT, and BROTHER should have been sent to prison! He PAID each of you...and because he didnt get a reciept, (because he "trusted" you!), you screwed him over!

I am seriously glad your not "my" brother! And you must have some dilly of a family there fella...

Lets hope that he comes to JESUS and sees the Light, and then, maybe after many hours of prayers and enlightenment, may let you back into his life...

I also hope that YOU, and your Co-Conspirators, go to Church, and find the LORD too!

I wish you well..

Jesse

your brother could could desire to in straightforward terms vent to you approximately he feels! i could provide him a heads up abt it however! perhaps you ought to do it while others are around. like, whats up you know my bf alex..., in communique with others while he can hear or basically tell him. despite the fact that, you in addition to could ought to tell him which you comprehend his opinion on the kin and assure him that alex is a good guy and does no longer harm, if he particularly is. additionally, tell him which you will nonetheless be there for him to speak. if what he says approximately your boyfriend bothers you exhibit it to him. yet remember blood is thicker than water!
