files that I lost when I chose a restore point as 2005 instead of 2006. I have been deperately trying to find a software that works. Search and Recover is hopeless, it keeps freezing out on me when it gets to about 70% search of my harddrive. I've tried googling for an alternative, there are so many out there and although some claim to be free, they are free to download but have to pay to run. I really don't mind paying but need to know that the one I'm getting will do the job. I thought I might be able to restore atleast some pics from my memory stick. Any ideas.
I've had some great advice in the past and hope you guys will come good again for me.

How about undoing your restore? After doing a system restore, I get 3 options when I check system restore; Restore to an earlier date, Create new restore point and Undo the last restore. Don't you get those options too?
