Get Rid of My Sinus Infection!
Ever wondered how you get a sinus infection? Ever wondered how you permanently get rid of a sinus infection? This article will give you the information you are looking for.
Ever wondered how you get a sinus infection? Ever wondered how you permanently get rid of a sinus infection? First of all we should explain what a sinus is. This will help us know how to truly combat sinus problems and what medicines will be effective and what medicines are not worth your money. Sinuses are located in between and behind the eyes and on either side of the nose. A sinus infection, also known as sinusitis, usually occurs because of blockage of nasal passageways which results in inflammation. Now when the nose gets plugged it creates a perfect place for bacteria to pitch a bacterial tent and stay for longer than the 15 day camping limit in Bacteria National Forest. Sinuses are designed to moisten and clean membranes of the nose and throat. Each sinus has a little opening into the nose which allows for mucus and air to transport itself in and out of the sinuses and nose. However when these passageways get blocked, bacteria can thrive in the area and this creating a horrible sinus problem which no one would like to go through. Sometimes these problems can become so serious that someone may have to receive sinus surgery. No one however should allow an infection to go that serious before doing something to help combat the sinus infection. Sinus infections can range from being acute which usually only last for about 3 weeks or from being chronic, which can last up to 8 weeks to having recurring acute attacks. Really, the scary thing is that sinus infections occur much more common then we think. About thirty percent of all people suffer from a sinus infection yearly. Therefore there have been many types of products made to combat this illness. Everything from antibiotics to anti-histamines and many different types of nasal sprays have been used, with some being more effective than others. Allow me to introduce one substance that perhaps no one has heard before. It is an all natural nutritional supplement called xylitol.
Xylitol looks and appears just like sugar. It has basically the same chemical structure except for one tiny difference. That difference is what makes xylitol an effective bacteria killer and sinus passageway cleanser. It has been used safely as a dietary supplement and in many different brands of gum because of its similarity in taste with sugar, but it is used effectively in a nasal spray to cleanse the nasal wall and relieve anyone who is suffering from an acute or chronic sinus infection. Here is how it works. First we have a saline nasal spray, which has been tested and used for a very long time by many allergy combating companies, and then we combine the cleansing effect of xylitol. Once it is used, bacteria found in the nasal wall consume the xylitol. The slight difference in the structure of xylitol and regular sugar make it impossible for bacteria to metabolize it and die because of xylitol’s 5 carbon structure. Therefore your nasal wall and sinus passages remain essentially washed and cleansed which combats sinus problems and prevents future recurring acute sinus infections. This also helps with earaches and earache infections as well since many times they are directly related with sinus problems. We always worry about bacteria on our hands and wash them many times a day, but why not worry about the bacteria found in our sinuses, which is the culprit of so many sinus problems that we suffer from.

I, too, suffer endlessly...But we need our sinuses...

If you can't afford much on prescripted medicines, you can buy over-the-counter medicines for flu or sinuses like in capsule or tablet forms or syrups. You can ask the person at the pharmacy store which you can take. Aside from medicines, be sure to eat enough citrus fruits and vegetable. Have enough rest too. Do try to sleep enough even if you have a hard time sleeping. You can try to elevate your pillow a bit so it can help you breath more. And also don't let sweat dry up on your shirt if you're gonna sweat a lot during the day. As much as possible, bring a spare shirt. So that's all I can suggest for now. Hope this helps! Wish you'll be well soon!

This may sound nuts but when I have particularly bad sinus pressure, I eat chile peppers and spicy food. It clears out your sinuses right away and in my experience relieves the pressure. If the medication that your doctor prescribed isn't working let her know so you can use another kind. There are nasal sprays too that can help but the best thing is the talk to your physician.

Allergists refuse flatly to help us at all. Some countries still allow the removal of sinuses but then you can no longer smell or taste very much. My sinuses run 24/7/365 as I have acute non-allergic rhinitis and sinusitis. I am not technically allergic to anything and am literally allergic to everything. They said go live in a controlled environment like the boy in the bubble. It runs down my throat so bad, that when I smell perfume, I almost choke to death and my throat stays so Raw that I am afraid of Cancer and they will blame that I used to smoke. That will be another of their lies. I can spray salt water up my nose until it comes out my mouth and it still just gets worse and my tongue and teeth are allway bleeding and nasty tasting and Full of bacteria and they blame that on that I used to smoke. They are (pardon) full of sh-it. So - we will just have to live with it and sue them when something happens.

I was in your boat until I discovered accupuncture. I went to a qualified Chinese doctor, and in about 3 or 4 sessions, I was cured of chronic sinus infections and allergies. That was about 5 years ago. I still go back for "tune ups" about every 3 weeks. Yayyy -- no more allergy meds!! PS: I skip the herbs they try to prescribe; I all need is the needles.

Perhaps a couple weeks of sudafed is a good idea. Not sudafed PE, the good stuff the keep behind the counter. Take it every four hours during the day so it doesn't keep you awake.
I do that when nothing else works and it seems to help dry things up and keep them dry.

There are so many different things people suggest and I sure do not know if any are any good or not. You should see a doctor and if you honestly are that poor you can get help and will be able to see a doctor. There must be some person you know that can help you get aid from your state or national government.

Not much you can do that I can think of, warm compresses on your forehead, breathing steam with or with out Vicks.
Dristan Sinus Spray might help, but can guarantee. I hope/trust someone else here can help you.
