steering wheel will turn but front wheels do not move very much at low RPMs seems to have a lot of slack in steering when driving just started all at once

Your steering box is most likely at fault. They don't last forever and big tires kill 'em quick. They aren't cheap either--I think around $400.

Check all the belts - make sure they're not cracked, teeth missing, or bits flake off in your hands.

Could be the alternator is just starting to go and/or there is so much going on - radio, heat, lights, ipod in the cigarette adapter, etc. - that the engine had insufficient power to properly run everything.

f its making a whining sound, check power steering fluid,other possibilities could be, air in tires is low, or you might need an alligment. you also might need frontend work.
