Good news!! Being as thin as you are you will see results quickly.
To build that kind of muscle I think you are looking for takes a strict regimine of diet and regular workouts.
High protein diet of course will help build the muscle.
Working out about 2 hours a day at least 5 days a week will get you in shape quick.
I used to do 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening of weight training and about 30 minutes of cardio after each workout.

I was the only girl in my highschool PE class and our coach was VERY into weight lifting. We did it about 3 times a week. And wow... looking at the shape he was in, he must have known what he was talking about!
Anyhow, coach always told the us that for best results you should lift every other day. Get a good workout making sure to cover several different muscle groups, give your body about 48 hours to recover, then do it again.
I am guessing that the "how long it will take to show" results will vary by person. One of my friends in that class went from being able to lift 175 to 270 in about 3 months. He wasn't exactly chubby or anything, but he wasn't too slim either... The results didn't show much unless he flexed, but his physical strength sure did increase!
That answer of every other day or 3 times a week was to how often you should lift weights to get muscle. But exercise such as long fast-pace walks or running are good for you on a daily basis.
Good luck and be safe :) Always have someone around to help you out if you do decide to test your limits.

Always recall, sluggish weight reduction is less difficult to preserve off than quick weight loss. If you are doing cardio, do as so much as that you may day-to-day. However, you could hold it three days per week at least requirement for your self. For my part, I determine 3-4 times a week, but I most effective do about ten minutes of cardio (i know, that's dangerous) and an hour a fifty minutes on weights. I misplaced 12 pounds in three weeks once I first started doing it. Every day events can be recreation too. For illustration, as an alternative of finding the closest parking zone, simply in finding one and walk to the doorway; stairs as an alternative of escalators. Simple things like that may support you a first-rate deal. Good luck, brother!

you're lifting heavy weights, low reps (Adding muscle mass), then try 2-3 days a week, and switch upper and lower body each time you go there.
If you're lifting light weights, high reps (Toning the muscles), then try 3-4 days a week, and switch upper and lower body still each time you go.
Note you have to have a good diet, plus lots of Cardio, if you want to be truly fit. Ask any more questions if you have them

wow...your discription is pretty close to me...anyways...if your just looking at the need to excercise, you should probably look at workin' out for at least 20 minutes - 3 times a week...if you want to be more muscular and more in shape, you should probably work out more than 3 times a week....it's all up to you and you wants and how it fits into your schedule!!! Good Luck!!! I know i should be doing this stuff too but my schedule is just so busy and it cold where i live so its not easy to exercise outdoors! Oh, and Merry Christmas and good luck in 2007!
