A deacon can not be a novice in the scriptures, so I will say, NO, there is certain qualifications for a deacon, & one of them is, that he can not be a young person in the Lord, in other words, he can not be a Christian for just a few years & become a deacon, He has to have the knowledge in the scriptures. Because Deacons is to deal with matters in the church.

Here is what God's Word Says...
1Timothy 3:10 -13 (KJV) And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

To meet the Biblical requirements it would be difficult. Not a new convert, married, children, good reputation, good manager of his household. Most of those things require a little "living" before you begin to lead others. I have heard of some churches that have a program for young people that prepares them for being deacons later.

Nope! The Bible clearly states you must be married and be mature in the faith. Even in chronological age. Sorry, I don't make the rules.
