I'm a special education teacher and we look at IQ (intelligence quotient) scores as one aspect of whether or not a child qualifies for Special Education services in school. 100 is the middle of average with 90-110 being the average range. Someone said 70 is average, but 70 is actually the cut-off (at least in WI) for having a Cognitive Disability (70 and below) - sometimes called Mental Retardation.

IQ refers to "Intelligence Quotient", or what your intelligence level is based on accepted averages. This is found through an IQ test, usually given and evaluated by a psychologist. There are IQ tests online, but they aren't very reliable. I did 4 online IQ tests in one day, and got different IQ scores each time. hope this helps

IQ stands for INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT - and is a suppose to be a measure of how well you handle new situations and questions.

A score of 70 is about average... a score twice that - is genius.

Over 160 and your doing pretty good.
