The last Ultimate Fight Night was meant to decide a number one contender for the Welterweight title. Now since GSP has to fight Matt Serra at UFC 68 Sanchez may end up facing Hughes for the title shot. UFC 67 looks to have Sylvia as the headliner, 69 will most likely have Shawn Sherk. So look to UFC 70 probably in May for Sanchez's shot or Hughes' rematch depending on what the UFC does.

So what that he is undefeated in the UFC the only title contender he has beaten was Karo Parisyan, and he would have lost that one had it been a 5 rounder. You seriously think he is over Matt Hughes and BJ Penn? Get real. He isn't ready yet, and even he knows it. You don't hear him talking smack about GSP like he did when Hughes was champ. If he can beat BJ Penn or Matt Hughes then I'd say he deserves a title shot, but not right now.

Not for another 3 years tops. He's just started fighting real caliber opponents but he's still not a big box office draw as Forrest Griffin is. I'd love to see him fight Josh Koscheck or even BJ Penn before giving him a title shot. Anyway I say ....
1. Georges St. Pierre, the champ!
2. Matt Hughes, former champ & recognized #1 contender.
3. BJ Penn after he captures the LW title and comes back to the WW division.
4. Diego Sanchez still needs more high-profile matches under his belt to prove he is the real deal.
5. Josh Koscheck of all people cause he's like the black horse of the division meaning he's a better fighter than most people give him credit for.

2 wins over non contenders at a hundred and fifty five isn't adequate for him to get a call shot. He needs to triumph over a contender at a hundred and fifty five first. Florian's getting a call shot because of the fact he beat Roger Huerta and final loss grew to become into to Sean Sherk 2 and a 0.5 years in the past. basically because of the fact Sanchez beat Florian 4 years in the past would not propose Sanchez gets a call shot first.

According to MMA Weekly he will get his shot in March in Montreal. I originally saw Hughes scheduled for this fight, but the rumors now are putting Sanchez Vs winner of St Pierre/Serra fight.

I think Sanchez is the best out there in his weight class right now. He's young quick and good at both standup and ground he will beat Matt I'm sure of this. But I like Matt so I hope not
