The Romans. The Jews, as an occupied nation, had no power to sentence anyone to death.

The Romans did.
And in 2002 Pope John Paul II issued a public apology to the Jewish nation for the pain and suffering (murders, torture, etc) which the Christians have 'bestowed' upon them due to the mistaken assumption that they were to blame in the death of Jesus.

We all killed Jesus, with every sin we commit.

Referring to your question at the time, the Jews persecuted and convicted Him, the Romans carried out the death sentence.

If there was such a person - and that is a BIG if, it would have been the Romans. It is odd that they have no documentation of it so at the very least, they didn't think Jesus was anything special.

It was Pontius Pilate who killed him, not the romans or the jews.

Just because judas probably betrayed him, and pontius probably kiled him (I don't know the full story), doesn't mean we should blame the rest of the group. I mean, there are MILLIONS of jews and romans existing now that would not kill him, ever.

The real answer is YOU...

He died on the cross for yours as well as my sins. So it was not the Romans nore the Jews, but all of man because He had to pay the blood price for our sins.

John 3:16 - 17 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Romans 3:10 (KJV) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:23 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

1John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Technically, it was a Roman who pierced his side and caused his body to finally give out.

But if the Christians (of which I am *not* one) would pay attention to the whole Crucifiction story, they would realize he didn't die. He was resurrected. So saying Jesus died "because of mankind's sins" etc. is stupid. Jesus showed there is no death in the truly spiritual sense.
