It depends entirely on your interests. Each military service has unique characteristics that make it different. A lot of people will parrot some rhetoric that they truly have no clue about, so you'll have to make up your own mind. A good place to start is to talk to the Service recruiters.
For me, the U.S Army was best. As a Soldier, you are part of the most powerful military the world has ever seen. No other Service has the opportunities for promotion and career progression as the Army.

Ignore the ignorant people with their ignorant answers who can only insult rather than support.
Every one has an opinion, as to which is the best, in the end it really depends on the person joining.
My dad fit in well with the Army, while my uncle was a marine for 36 years and my Grandfather was a Navy man. I have one cousin who loved the marines an one who was relatively indifferent to the experience. My opinion Army All the way! But then again my brother would say Air Force.
If your thinking about joining I wish you the best of luck, Just make sure you do your research, Know what you want to do in the service and pick the one that will give you the best chance at getting in to the field you want.

Well...each branch has its own perks and downfalls. The army has the fastest promotions and you pretty much get to pick whatever job you want to get trained in. The downfall is that you have to work in facilities with obsolete technology, you deploy for long periods of time, the living environment is pretty bad because army reuses lots of old crap that should have be thrown out at the turn of the century, and there's no guarantee that you'll ever do the job you were trained for.
In the navy, you get to travel and work with nuclear tech. Problem is you travel and live on a ship and rarely get off. And most navy jobs involve ship maintinence.
Marines you get lots of the navy benefits but your branch has little to no money. And you really don't get much representation politically since the marines are under the department of the navy. Plus the high casualty rate.
I personally would choose the air force. I plan on going in after college.

Some people work better in one branch than another. The thing to do if you are considering joining is talk to all the recruiters and see which one appeals the most to you. Everyone has an opinion based on what branch they were in, but their opinions aren't everyone's, it all boils down to what fits you personally. I happen to enjoy being a Marine, however, I have a close friend who didn't like being in the Marines and didn't do so well, got out, joined the army and has excelled. Don't listen to peoples opinions on what THEY think is best. Go your own road and pick what's best for YOU.

US Navy.
I honestly don't know why anyone would want to join another branch, except if you have some sadistic desire to kill someone.
Here's the breakdown...The Air Force spends all of their time bored out of their minds, drinking coffee, and watching planes land and take off. That's literally all they do. The Army is a bunch of people that probably have lower IQ's than you, annoy the hell out of you, and you'll probably end up spending some time in a really dry, hot place where alot of people try to blow you up. The Marines is about the same. The Navy is more professionally oriented. I guess I have a bit of an adventurous nature, so I like going to exotic, weird places and seeing things that most people can't. I suppose a life on the sea doesn't appeal to many, but to many it is the only life we can imagine. I think that sailors have the most fun out of anyone, and enjoy their experience the most. Being a sailor is an honor and a privilege. Whatever you do, consider a career as a Naval officer, it's pretty great.

That really isn't something that someone can tell you. I enjoyed the Navy. But if I were to do it again, I would choose the Coast Guard. You really just have to do some research. Don't let the cliches fool you. Not all people in the air force work on planes, not all people in the navy are on boats, not all people in the army are grunts and Marines go on boats too.

The Marines are elite? BWAAAHAHAHAHA! The Marines have not performed something when you consider that Iwo Jima.... different than tutor they do no longer comprehend a thank you to guard their compound and lose administration of a extensive Iraqi city. i've got in my view been shot at by utilising extra US Marines than the enemy in a try against zone.

depends what you want to do.
What are you into?
If you like working on machines, youll love the airforce.
If you like building things, go into the navy seabees.
If your a pyromaniac, become a army combat engineer.
If you just want to be outstanding, join the marines.
