You don't need to be in a Religion, or go to Church, as long as you have faith in God-Jesus in your heart, as a personal friendship.

It Sounds very easy what you saydo you really think that?A lot of people believe thatALL RELIGIONS are good, they say;"They are simply different roads leading to the same place" If this were true, your religion or ways woulfd not matter, for it would mean that all religions are acceptable to God no matter what. But are they?Jesus Christ did not teach that All religions are simply roads that lead to the same place of salvation In his famous sermon on the mount He said,"Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the leadingoff into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it.whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it."(Matthew7:13,14)
So Jesus did not say that everybody was right or finding salvation but that most people are on the wrong roadwhich is the one leading to destruction and that there are only two roads one leading to destruction wide and spacious meaning virtually anything goes on that road and the other leading to life is narrow and cramped and few people are on that road because it is not an easy ropad but it takes effort to follow itSo because the people traveling on the wide and spacious road choose their own ways and the wide easy road saying and believing that all religion is simply a different way to God they fail to worship God in the right way most people are on the broad and spacious road that really leads away from God and into destruction Ye it is possible to be right and there are people who are on the right road and are right but they are a small minority of people who have found the right road and will receive salvation, those few are doing what is required by God the majority arte not and are therefore on the big wide easy road that does not lead to the place of salvation! no, more is needed than just believing, the demons and satan believe, but belief will not save them, just as belief will not save any humans yes if you have a relationship with God, but a relationship involves doing something to keep a relationship going, Jesus did not say that all religions are ok, but he did say that there are only 2 roads that humans can go on, one leads to life and a good relationship with God, and the other road leads away from God and not into life.

Religion is really messed up. Christianity is the largest, and that includes Catholics and Protestants, that don't have the same beliefs about who Jesus was. The Protestants are divided even further. Between Lutherans, JW's , Pentacostal, Episcopalian, Baptists, etc...and they don't all have the same beliefs about who Jesus was either.
It probably doesn't matter if you claim any religion. But one should affiliate themselves with those of the same beliefs about who Jesus actually was. One is able to do this in a church, but many of us just haven't found the right one yet. I personally believe that God and Jesus are one, and that Jesus is the Word of God made into flesh, born of a virgin. I also believe that a real Christian is one that follows the teachings and examples of Christ. God is not a separate being from His word nor His spirit. I am me, I am my word, and I am also my spirit. Not 3 separate people. All ME. Once a person knows the truth, only THEN, can you have a personal relationship with the Lord.

If God-Jesus is in your heart, you have to be following Him as his disciples done. On the day of Pentecost His disciples was in the upper room and praying together and not in the Jerusalem temple as other Jews did. There are more disciplines in the early churches which is an exemplary of His followers.

If you have faith in God/Jesus in your heart, then you DO have a religion, and there is only one religion that can be, Christianity.

But, I am not a traditional Christian, and no matter how many times someone tells me that their way is the only true way, and all the rest of us free thinkers are going to hell, just because we think for ourselves, and think outside the box, and make up our own minds, and believe what our higher selves tell us is right, I will never accept that.

You are correct to a point! Note the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus in John Ch.3. Nicodemus was a ruler of the Jews and he would have done many good things as he was under the law and despite his good background, Jesus told him that he must be born again. If a person is born again they will see the kingdom of heaven but if they are not and are relying on their good works then they will not enter the kingdom of heaven as per the conversation in John Ch.3. I agree with you that religion does not matter as long as a person is born again (saved) then they are heaven bound. Thankfully Jesus did not come to establish a religion but rather a relationship betwen God and man.

It sounds as if you have Jesus is your heaart and that is good, but you do need to go to a church because we are supposed to be with like minded people. and even if it is once a week it helps keep us in the truth of Jesus. when we walk in the world we lose sight of what he means to us so to spend time with other Christians is good wherever you can find them in Church or out but hang with people who believe like you do it will keep you strong in faith.

In Jesus' own words to His Father in John 17:3, Jesus says,
'And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent'.

Life is easier if you surround yourself with people of like faith that can encourage you in your walk of faith.

If you are not reading the Bible regularly, I would suggest that you start reading it by reading the gospel of John.

I know Jesus. Jesus is a close friend of mine, and he founded the church for a reason.

Try to make good use of it, while there's still time.

I don't think its important where or how you worship God/Jesus. Or if you speak about him with a friend or a group of people.
Jesus was without sin and other religions speak good of him. Anyone can accept his teachings in his heart.
But if you care for eternal life you must choose Jesus as what he told us he is. Our savior and redeemer. Our way to the Father.

I think a close personal friendship with someone who doesn't exist is not something to cherish. I think that this close personal friendship that some people feel that they have is hurting humanity. I think a better thing to say might be something along the lines of,"It doesn't matter what country you are from, what language you speak, or what color your skin is as long as you act respectfully to other people and do not infringe on their rights." If everyone were to live to that sentence, the world would be much better off than if everyone were to live by yours.
