It depends on your face structure i think. If you have a longish-elongated face, definitely go for the curls! If you have a broad or chubby face, straight sleek hair would look better. ;)
But then again, its all up to you. As long as you like your hairdo

What are you wearing? Is is casual or dressy? If it is more of a casual affair, I would wear it down and curled. If it is dressy, then definitely an up-do would be the best way to go. Have fun and don't forget to wear your make up appropriate for the occasion and earrings as well to finish off your special look.

curls look nice, but i fyoure afraid of looking chubbier, then i'd say go with straightening, i find that curls make faces look chubbier.

up to you. see how well it fits you. just imagine yourself walking down the road with curly hair, or straight hair. is it nice. its really up to you.
