Generally speaking, if both of the style performed by the same martial artist with same concentration and quality, kicks are stronger.

But if the kick performed by a 100 pound athlete while the punch performed by a 200 pound heavyweight boxer, then the punch is harder, assuming the speed of both technique is same, vice versa.

In physics we know that the momentum or impact of the attacking techniques depends on speed and mass or weight of the performer (or usually put as P = m.v2, in which m stand for mass (kg or pound), dan v2 for quadrate speed (m/second)).

Lets take the above example. Using the math the boxer will have twice impact harder then the kicker.

Unless the kicker can perform the kick with a greater speed.

There are many very powerful kicks, but some are too flashy to be effective. The same goes with 'superman' punches. It most definitely depends on who is delivering what. A boxer can't kick worth anything, and a Tae Kwon Do expert lacks the power in their hands. Both can be immensely powerful, if performed correctly and to the best targets.

Well I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do but I have also trained in boxing and Muay Thai. After training in Muay Thai I would definitely say that kicks are much harder than punches, but I also agree with that if a 300 pound man can punch harder than a 100 pound man can kick. But a person has the potential to kick harder than they can punch because your legs are much stronger. But I am talking muay thai kicks. Tae Kwon do has alot of flashy kicks but in Muay Thai we kick with our shins right to the kidneys, legs (inside and outside) Kidneys and I have strong punches but my kicks are even stronger. I can take alot more good punches than good kicks, I hope that helps

Physically a kick has more power, your legs have more length and also more power than your arms, Plus your legs carry most of the weight of your body around all day.

but that really doesn't matter too much especially if the kick or punch strikes a potential weak spot on the body in the proper manner.

A kick is stronger , but a punch usually hurts more . Thats because the punch is usually concentrated to a smaller area .

Depends, a push kick may not hurt at all, and a hook might clip you on the chin and knock you out.

Generally a kick will be more forceful than a punch, but you are sacrificing your base.

Kicks have the potential to be much more powerful as your legs are much stronger than your arms. It takes more training to deliver powerful kicks.
