Alcoholic EGGNOG
3 cups whole milk
7 large eggs
1 cup sugar
2 cups heavy cream
1/3 cup bourbon
1/3 cup Cognac or other brandy
1 teaspoon vanilla
Garnish: freshly grated nutmeg
Special equipment: an instant-read thermometer
Bring milk just to a boil in a 2-quart heavy saucepan. Whisk together eggs and sugar in a large bowl, then add hot milk in a slow stream, whisking. Pour mixture into saucepan and cook over moderately low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until mixture registers 170°F on thermometer, 6 to 7 minutes. Pour custard through a fine-mesh sieve into cleaned large bowl and stir in cream, bourbon, brandy, and vanilla. Cool completely, uncovered, then chill, covered, until cold, at least 3 hours and up to 24.
note:
Flavor of eggnog improves when it is made a day ahead to allow alcohol to mellow.
Makes about 6 cups.

it's safer to buy it cause home made eggnog goes bad quickly.
I'm not sure of the amounts but it's made from eggs, milk, sugar, Cinnamon, heavy cream and a few other spices(nutmeg)
i know you got to beat the egg whites and there's a few other steps but I can't remember right now
there should be some recipes if you just google "eggnog recipes"
it's a bit of work and probably cheaper just to buy it unless you already have all the spices available. I made it once a long time ago but can't exactly recall what the procedure was.
there was another question posted earlier and there were some recipes on there!! posted by "babythugg"

Old-Fashioned Egg Nog
From Sean Paajanen,
A super rich eggnog with cream and milk, with a bit of a kick from brandy and rum.
INGREDIENTS:
6 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 cups milk
2 cups heavy whipping cream
3/4 cup brandy
1/3 cup dark rum
PREPARATION:
Chill everything before starting, for best results. Beat eggs until frothy, then beat in sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Slowly stir in brandy, rum, cream and milk. Chill again, and serve eggnog cold.
