I posted a while back on my sister being a 43 yr old alcoholic with 4 kids. Christmas is tomorrow and ours is starting off with the usual horrible messy alcohol induced drama! My sisters bf of 8 yrs who is the father of her 3 yr old just left tonight saying he has had enough. It is hard because he is kind of playing both sides of the fence. He sees a glimmer of hope with my sister and then he doesn't want to do what he knows he needs to do and that is to work with us her family on any way possible to get her the professional help she needs. I do not think my sister can stop drinking on her own. My dad is an alcoholic who stopped 4 yrs ago and he is so worried about my sister because he knows HOW bad it can get and my dad is far from a "drama king" if you will.
Last night I was called by my 16 yr old nephew to come over. Things were bad and when I pulled up. My nephew came down and told me his mom slapped him 3 times in the face. He called her a well bad word, however......

I am a strong believer you should never strike your child in the face! Things really escalated and the cops were called. I got in my sisters face last night to where I have never done that before. I was SO angry at her! Long story short, things just aren't getting better. Christmas hasn't even started and it is already ruined! We need her bf to be on board with us of her getting help, but how? Please help, even words of wisdom will help at this point. I'm desparate for options.

I have to comment and say my sisters kids aren't illegitimate children. Her 3 boys there father committed suicide. The father of the 3 yr old, well the only reason that they aren't married is because my sister would have lost money for her other boys if they became a 2 income home. She gets X amount of money till the kids turn 18 due to there dads death.
Her kids will NEVER be considered a mistake.
