Coptic experts recognized the manuscript when they evaluated it in a hotel room in Geneva in 1983, but didn't have the $3 million asked for by the dealer.
Nevertheless, considering how religiously significant such an old document is, surely there must've been people willing to pay that price!
So I don't get how or why the document got shoved in a safe deposit box for so many years out of the hands of people able to translate it & preserve it!
