The Mass has two separate parts and seven activities:

Part 1: Instruction: The Liturgy of the Word

1. Gathering
2. Proclaiming
3. Explaining
4. Praying

Part 2: The Liturgy of the Eucharist

1. Offering
2. Consecrating
3. Communion
