(I was going to be sarcastic, and then I saw your screen name.) I love tattoos. Don't have any myself. I don't even have pierced ears. But, anyway, a very inexpensive and trendy new way to "remove" tattoos is to tattoo over them somehow. The procedure neutralizes the tones. It's used to "remove" freckles and discolorations, too. Ask around. It's done by foo-foo types in stylish salons.

Each treatment costs at least $500 or more, and depending on size, color and so forth, can take anywhere from 1 to maybe 10 treatments to get it MOSTLY gone. And if you have yellow or green ink, you maybe be stuck for life, because yellow is the hardest pigment to neutralize.
I personally would pay nothing for these treatments, because I would not be silly enough to get anything that I would ever want removed. That's a major waste of cash, and all around just stupid.
But if it was one of those stupid, inebriated-at-the-time, type things, I would find a cute way to cover or touch it up. But removal is valid to me in this case.

I would pay nothing because each tattoo I have I made sure I wanted for over a year and 200% sure. The usual comment is how will it look when I am old and wrinkly....I WON"T CARE! Crap I will be happy to just be kicking it still, so even then I would have nothing removed.

laser removal is $1000-2000. although i don't have any tattoos myself, i would recommend covering it up or adding to it, particularly if the tattoo is small. a coverup/addon is less painful than the removal procedure, and it costs less too. but it's best to get a tattoo you know is deeply personal to you, not something that reflects a short-lived phase, so you don't have to worry about getting it removed! =)

The average cost is $2000 per square inch to have it completely removed. (multiple treatments) It's a lot cheaper to get one than have it removed.
