I've struggled with acne too believe me. I know that most of these answers have been about using harsh chemicals and washing your face with hand soap but that will only make it worse. I would suggest using Proactive. Its not cheap, but it works.....i have been using it and I saw results within the next week. Also, in the mean time you can start by:
1. Preventing oil from being on your face constantly. You can do this by changing your pillow case once a month to wash the oils from your hair out of it. Try not to touch your face or scratch at pimples no matter how tempting it may be. Put your hair back and wash it daily with a special shampoo for oily hair. I would suggest Head and Shoulders.
2. Eating right is a big factor in keeping your pores unclogged because whatever you eat comes out of your pores during exercise or whenever you sweat. Try drinking more water and eat healthier foods. Mainly focus on cutting oily foods out of your diet. Also, as good as it may be, chocolate is really bad for your complexion so try to eat it in small amounts.
3. Exercise once a day to rejuvenate your skin. Its good to work up a sweat because it cleanses your skin and help your pores to become unclogged which is the reason why acne starts. I find that exercise also makes me feel energized. Its a good way to start your day if you wake up early and go for a jog.
4. If you do exercise, make sure you arnt wearing any makeup even if it says its hypoalergenic. Any makeup will still clog your pores while you work up a sweat. Also, it is good to always wear sunscreen when you are outdoors because sunburn or general exposure to the sun may worsen acne. Just apply an oil free moisturinzing sunscreeen before you go outside.
I hope I helped answer your question!! Good luck.

Definitely use a benzoyl peroxide or salicyic acid cleanser to fight pimples. A very good product for washing your face is Proactive Solution. It gets rid of that acne within a week, in most cases!
Tips for Getting Rid Of Existing Acne
Here are some great tips and home remedies on getting rid of acne you already have:
Cleanse the skin with a benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid cleanser, apply an alphy hydroxy, and then use a toner. Then use an acne fighting medication to the skin along with a moisturizer.
To dry out a pimple overnight, try using toothpaste (not gel) directly on the zit. This should help dry it out overnight.
A great face mask is to use the white part of an egg and apply it to your face for about 15 minutes. The vitamin A in the whites is also good for your skin.
The egg white is also a great overnight remedy, but just use a Q-tip to dab on the egg-white directly to the pimple.
To rid redness from an inflamed zit, use visine eyedrops and apply to the red spots.
Another way to get rid of redness: try hydrocortisone cream or pop two Advil.

Dont use chemiclae stuff to stop or remove it..it starts off again as soon as u stop.use natural herbs and home remedies.
Apply honey on face, drink at least 8-9 glasses of water daily, eat fruits and veges,u can wash ur face at night with salt water to kill the germs from spreading around, wash ur face whenever u come from outside(in short dont let the dust/dirt stay on ur face for long).use little bit of warm water to wash ur face once in a while that will remove the oily stuff from ur face well besides all this dont sleep with makeup or go around with make up to cover acne.it will spread more..it might look bad for a while but it will stop.use a cleanser once a week and after using it always apply a toner(be sure to get the cleanser and toner of the same brand and of 5.5PH)
Good luck to you!

I too, have acne. Not really whiteheads, but I get blackheads EVERYWHERE! lol. I started using the Peter Thomas Roth skin care line (which is carried at Sephora) but the face wash didnt' work too well. I also use his "Maximum Strength Face Pads" and they work wonders! I have an older sister with almost the same skin as me, so we try new products out and tell each other about them. She uses the Juicy skin care line (which is also carried by Sephora) and she said it works WONDERS! and she has worse skin than I do. Like I said, I don't get whitheads like she does, I get blackheads. This is what I do: EVERY morning, wash your face with St. Ives Blackhead scrub, then EVERY night, wash it again with St. Ives Blackhead scrub followed buy St. Ives Blackhead cleaner. I like to use an exfoliante every day at bed time, that's why I do it twice, and my face is CLEAR!!!

You are entering the stage of puberty; it's usually very common, but bad acne needs a dermatologist. He/she can help you analyze your skin and what prescription you can put in it. Meantime, don't irritate it by messing it up. Eat less of fatty foods coz for sure you've got oily skin and irritated. Drink a lot of juice and water too.

Bad acne cannot be cured by over the counter products. You need to see a dermatologist for better options. A dermatologist visit will be covered by your parents health insurance so ask them to make an appointment right away. If they have an HMO, you may need to visit your family doctor first. Then, he will refer you to one that will be covered by your insurance.
You may need antibiotics, retinoids, laser or peel treatments which you will not be able to get outside of a doctor's office.

You should try not to touch face with your hands as your hands might be dirty. If you have an oily face like mine, I suggest you wash your face as soon as it gets oily. It worked for me anyway. You should also drink more water as it washes of toxins in your body.
PS. I too have a lot when I was 12. (I'm 15 now) For me I think that when you get older your pimples will gradually fade off. Believe me.( because now I don't have any pimples:D )

Fisrt, stop touching your acne (i presume it's on your face). Next wash your face with warm water and REGULAR soap. Put some Clearasil on it afterwards. The next day, get some aloe vera plant and cut it and put the juice on your acne. Leave it there for about half and hour nad then go wash it off with cold water and soap. Dry your face and do not touch it!!
Good Luck

See a dermatologist. Only he/she can recommend what's best to use on your skin. It's best not to try out other's remedies because all skin types are unique. Your dermatologist can prescribe topical creams, gels, roll on liquids, or pills to control your acne.
Hope this helps!
