Virginity and Germany ?

Question

I(22) have been living with my boyfriend(23,German) of 2 years in Germany and well I told him I was a virgin and waiting until I got married, and when I told him he started laughing like it was some joke ?! He gets upset when I tell him NO and he says that most people my age lost there virginty a long time ago and that it is embarrising to still be a virgin at my age, so my questions are:

1.Is he telling the truth ?
2.Do people in Germany generally find virginity to be an embarrising thing ?

*shrugs* It's not a German thing... it's a worldwide thing. It's most likely true considering how many teenagers are knocked up, have STDs, etc. Sex is a universal thing, and the younger generation definitely wants to partake in it.

In his defense, the whole waiting until you're married thing is quite old-fashioned and most likely stems from some type of religious background. Eeks... well, maybe that's my opinion. I just personally don't believe in that whole BS where you should wait like a good little boy or girl or whoever to have sex since there's a growing population that abhors the idea of marriage. I personally do... Hell, not everyone is even ALLOWED to get married! So, why should we have to be punished for being denied the right to get married or for not even contemplating the suicide pact known as tying the knot...?

Of course, this is ALL your decision. If you're not ready or you don't want to, he'll have to deal. He can just jerk off by himself... you decide to do it when you feel like you can.

Umm..yeah. Considering that I am an American I wouldn't know about cultural taboos in Germany, but in America being a virgin at 22 is a rarity. The teen pregnancy rate is outrageous!! I wouldn't neccessarily be insecure about making wise decisions. (I wish I wouldn't have lost my virginity at 14) But also being a male I can understand him being eager:)! Quite frankly, I'm surprised you've been dating him long enough to live with eachother! Ayy.... be glad you have a man with patience. I think I speak on behalf of the average man when I say that I honestly would have dumped your celibate azz a minute ago...not to sound shallow or womanistic I just ain't too tolerant! Keep it as long as you can!!1

First of all, what a jerk. Your virginity is a very sacred thing and don't give it up to someone who would laugh at you like that. Yes it's true a lot of people your age have lost their virginity but that doesn't mean it was the right thing for them to do. If you still have your virginity it's for a reason, and If you want to save yourself until marriage then do it. Respect yourself and keep your own vows regardless of what he wants. If he loves you, he'll wait. And about the Germany thing, I don't know, I'm not from there. But if it is an embarrasing thing, that's weird!

It is strange to be virgin at this age. But you should know, what you want to do. It is your body.

But you should also know, to have sex is a great thing, you shouldn't think it is dirty or bad. If you are really in love in somebody, sex is completing the love. If you want to be virgin and wait, then find a boy, who think the same like you. It is hard for a boy to stay with a girl and not to have sex, try to understand also him. Today to have sex is a normal thing and not to have sex, that is not normal for many people!!!!!!!!

I really don't know anything about germanry except that europe as a whole is generally more liberal than the US is sexual matters. I'm from the US and I know I wouldn't go out with a woman who was a virgin at that age.

everyone has their own opinions on virginty no matter where you are from. maybe it was embaressing to him as a guy to be a virgin. you need to tell him it was a moral or religious decision, and that you want him to respect that not laugh

Its much more common now that teenager have sex early...however, if you want to keep your virginity for your marriage, thats your own choice and decision. If he really loves you and cares about you, he will respect your decision.

1.) no, he'd rather that then u be a slut, he probably respects that u havent jus given in, and he finds it unbelievable that u have n't lost it yet
