I've seen memorable ones but have never seen an effective one...the egg one (this is your brain, this is you brain on drugs) really stands out - however I do not consider it effective...
the problem with drug ads is they are clearly propaganda and not honest and factual so kids see right through them or are brainwashed by thema nd have a rude awakening in high school/ college when they realize they have been lied to all these years...I think kids respond better to honesty and a realistic portrayal of use and abuse - not the silly dramatics...

I think the best anti-drug commercial I have ever seen was the one where this guy says that he smoked pot the other day, and he didn't run over a kid or shoot heroin. He just "sat on Pete's couch for seven hours". And then he decides to go out in the real world and leave all of his stoner friend there on the couch.
That is some effective advertising, based in truth. People don't smoke pot once and then start doing speedballs (heroin and coke together), but you can just spend your whole life screwing around.
That was the only anti-drug commercial that I didn't just snicker at, and coming from a 20 year old college student that's something.

I haven't seen one yet.
I think the problem is that we have to admit a couple of things to people who use drugs: yes you are dealing with a lot of "stuff" in your life, yes drugs DO give you an escape (for a while), and yes we do drink, smoke, and then expect you to do as we say not as we do.
Only by being honest will people (especially children) then listen to us about the terrible damage drugs do to society and themselves.
It's a little deeper than a commercial that says "Just say No" or "This is your brain on drugs".

The fried egg commercial - 'this is your brain, this is your brain on drugs' Got any questions.....was most effective.
The other one about seat belts. Where, he puts the raw egg in a pan, tapes it and drops the pan. It is not broken. He takes the egg out of the tape and breaks it on the edge. In this commercial no words were spoken....Then the writing: Seat belts save lives. Got any questions? I thought that was effective.

I thought the ad with the woman with the black **** all over her was pretty good, and it said something like "If the stuff from the inside of your lungs, was on the outside, would you still smoke?"
