Which run LINUX at its best? Intel or AMD? and which Intel/AMD processor? thanks a lot.?

Either work well. The AMD64 will work better than the typical Intel when running a 64-bit version of Linux, though, provided that the applications are also written to take advantage of the 64-bit processing.

Linux will run on any CPU... the choice is yours.... buy the cheapest CPU that fits your pocket
my choice would be
Mother board MSI K9N ... AMD 64x2 3800mhz 512 meg ram, your choice of graphics card.. and the rest of the bits,
