First of all, when the child is in trouble with the LAW ... sometimes it takes the TOUGH LOVE of a PARENT to let them SERVE TIME ... and that means that you LET THEM SIT in Jail for a while -- send them to a diversion program ... and DO NOT let them come home until the child has a complete attitude change.
Here is one thought in the whole process .. DO NOT be a DOORMAT for your child. Set RIGID rules .. do NOT allow them to hem and haw ... and NEVER, ever say anything except -- YES or NO for what they want to do -- most of it should be NO ... and hold to the NO when you say it.
Has the child been to see their MD -- perhaps they have some mental illness problems as well ... or maybe under the influence of drugs (which is why they would act out) ... So please check this as well with your child -- and follow the MD's recommendations -- get the lab work done .. get the Child to see the Psychiatrist for Evaluation ... and a Therapist too if they need it.

so your the parent. if you think your kid need boot camp then send them, if you think they need therapy then send them. all i know is that whatever you choose to do has to get him/her on the right path. you are nothing in life with felonies on your record, and it sure sounds like that is wheree you kid is headed. he/she will hate you for a long damn time, you can count on that. but its really not hate, once they hit their 20's hopefully all the hard work you put in as a parent will show them that all you ever did was care and without your hard work, they would probably be living in a shitty hole in the wall-thinking it was pretty cool because that is the best thing they could do for their life. i hope you can stop your kid from wreacking their life.

It is sad and it is for attention. GET MEAN AND SERIOUS OR YOU WILL LOSE THIS CHILD TO DRUGS AND THE LAW! Allow him to go nowhere!!!! A 13 yr. old who is in trouble should have no priveledges! No friends...Get him some professional help before his life in ruined. You are the parent. It will feel and look like your failure if he destroys himself. Good luck.

DISCIPLINE! Again, troubled children come from troubled homes. What kind of environment have you created from your child?
