She wakes up intermittently i the middle of the night (not for consecutive nights) and we have tried the Tracy Hogg pick up put down method - unsuccessfully). Looking for anyone else experiencing this problem with any and I mean ANY kind of solutions.

My son did this at 16 months old too. It was almost always teething or an ear infection. Sometimes the only sign was him getting up at night so it was hard to figure out. He lived with chronic ear infections, so half the time we didn't know what the problem was until later.
I doubt she is seeking your attention or she would be up every single night. Talk to her Dr.
Good luck on helping your little one sleep soundly.

We used the cry it off technique with our son and we only go to him when he is truly in need and you can tell by the cry. Some parents don't agree with it but our son is almost 3 and very independent with going to sleep, staying asleep and going back to sleep on his own...of course when he is sick that's different and we go to him and console him or give him the medication he needs. You could also try going into your little ones room and assuring them that "mommy is here" or "daddy is here" and sit in a chair until they go back to sleep or are calm. Picking them up and consoling them when there is no real reason doesn't work because they get conditioned to being consoled when they just wake in the middle of the night for no real reason. Well that's my take and suggestions. Take care and best of luck to you.

My daughter used to wake up at midnights 3 hours to 3hourst to be fed and change the pampers and playing.Fortunately when she was 7 months she quited that and had a normal sleep.
Now your baby may :
1- is hungry as she does not have a complete milk or food before sleeping.
2- She may have the habit of urinating at midnights.then you should make her urinate before sleeping and do not give her liquid about 1 hour before her sleep.
3- she may have a pain in her stomach because of a problem of digestion.
4- she might have nightmares.Sleep her near yourself and take her hands in your hand and sing her songs before sleeping.

I hope you best wishes.

This could be an ear infection if she is crying, teeth, or night terrors too. Don't exclude these. If she just wanted to see you it would be everynight. Observe her during the day...are her fingers in her mouth or ears? Ask a dr. too. There is nothing wrong with giving a child tylenyol if you suspect an illness or teeth pain. Leave a night light on too...sometimes they begin to fear the dark. I have two kids one is 20 months. Good luck.
