When Kane was sent from the garden of Eden, he went unto the land of Nod. It was written (King James version) that there he took a wife. Now if Adam and Eve, Kane, and Abel, were the only humans in creation at this time, who was Kane's wife? And what about this land of Nod? Wasn't the Garden of Eden the only place created yet? Why was Nod never mentioned again? And was there another group of humans there, not aforementioned?

I have wondered that same thing before myself. Also on Kane was placed a mark so that any that saw it should slay him. Yet he met and married a wife. Someone married him to his wife and didn't kill him and his wife didn't kill him.

Sometimes I think the Adam and Eve Story may be a spiritualization of mankind as a whole. Adam and Eve are mankind at the age of enlightenment. When we first began to communicate with ourselves and our God.

Just a thought...

I believe Nod translated is a Hebrew word meaning wondering so Cain went forth into the land of wondering or he just wondered around in the east of Eden. It dose not say how long he wondered or when he met her. And they was other people besides Adam and Eve at this time they had many kids after Cain and Abel and the bible didn't say how old Cain was when he left so he could have been very old, no telling how many kids Eve could have had by that time or her children could have had. Besides the bible says he went just to the west of Eden he probably wasn't to far away maybe a couple miles at most.

Number one, Cain's wife was his sister, female births were not recorded in the bible. Nowhere in the bible does it say that Cain and Abel were the only two children of Adam and Eve, they are just the two being talked about. As for creation, you are assuming that the garden of Eden was the only place created, when the Bible clearly states that Heaven and Earth had been created by that time, the garden was just that, A cultivated spot on the planet earth. It was not the only place on earth. Try not making assumtions. Just because someone or something is not mentioned in writing does not mean they dont exist. Or did you think that after Abel was born that Eve went on the pill? Or since Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden they were floating around in space because the rest of the earth didnt exist yet?

Eat: Adam and Eve had other children and the potential instilled within them to produce the various races we are familiar with today. Remember, that God was "kicking off" phase one in His ultimate plan for mankind by placing him [mankind] in the garden of Eden, ( which, incidently, was located on the side of a mountain and not on a flat plain) . At the time of Cain's murder of Abel, Adam and Eve were already expelled from Eden, and Cain was their child ( as was Abel ) and when he [Cain] murdered Abel, he was sentenced to Nod ( a land called, "wonderland" ) where he roamed around as a nomad and met his wife ( his sister - as we all are related when we trace our roots back, all the way to Adam, our patriarch [ Greatest Grandfather ] . We all had to come from someone (human) , therefore, we are all brothers and sisters ! God created humans and their genetic "wiring"; He manipulated it to serve His purpose - all in our [ mankind's] best interest. The Book of Geneisis is a very brief synopsis of Creation. Every detail is not recorded, only the information pertainent to the process for the spiritual salvation of all of us humans, ever born. When you read the Book of Revelation - the final Book in the New Testament, you will find mention of the garden of Eden mentioned there, in reference to mankind being salvaged from death and sin. The real, "Final Fronteer" for mankind, where we all will win because God is in the saving business !!! In short, we are all created to be given future, eternal life. Where Adam - the first man blew it, Jesus Christ has mended the rift and we all reap the benefits because of His [Christ's] sacrifice. Merry Christmas !!!

1. God created the WORLD in 6 days. Not just the garden of Eden...see the first few verses of the Bible. 2. At that time blood lines were 100% PURE. There had previously been no such thing as sickness or decease. As such, brother and sister could mate with no fear of health problems to the child. 3.. Why Nod is never mentioned again? I don't know. Maybe nothing worth writing about went on there.

There's several theories but no one knows for sure. Some jews believe Lilith was the first woman created from the dirt like Adam & because of her rebellion Lilith was cast out from the garden & Eve was created from man. But one that I feel sounds more plausible is before Moses & the law (which was many moons later) incest wasn't a sin because unless you know something is wrong you're not guilty of committing it. The Bible only tends to name the males (at least for quite a few generations) so I believe it's very possible Nod was inhabited by younger siblings of Cain & Abel. But no one really knows.

Allow me to answer with some answers! Where in the Bible does it say that the "Garden" (key word there) of Eden was the only place created? Also, what time frame does the Bible mention between the creation of Eve and her offspring? Also, where does it say that they were the only folks on Earth at that time? Come on! Ask some better questions than that! That stuff's elementary.

And for the "Lucy" comment by WiseWisher: Lucy was found to be a fraud. Look up your facts before spouting off lies like that.

Cain wasn't in Eden. If you will recall, Adam and Eve had already been evicted from the Garden.

There are many things that God did not see necessary to tell us. (I do not know why) I only know He told us what He wanted us to know. This will be a great question to ask when we get to Heaven.

When I say God didn't tell us everything, I mean just that. Think about that for a moment. If you had told someone 2000+ years ago that we would be flying around in the air faster than the speed of sound in metal aircraft or that we would be driving around at high rates of speed in our little coffins, I mean cars, or that we would sit in our living rooms and watch a little box with images of people and stories that are just out of this world...do you think they would have believed you?

I think God told us what is necessary to live a life that is pleasing to Him.

I know that probably didn't answer your question...but we are not given that information in the Holy Bible.

Merry Christmas!!!

adam is the hebrew word for mankind. so, when the text says adam it means mankind, and it means this allegorically. i don't think the jews would have believed that literally, they knew the meaning of stories. otherwise why would they include several competing stories about creation in their texts?

anyway never does it say in the eden story that adam and eve were the only people, nor does it say that they were the first. it just says they were people in the garden, and again it doesn't say that god stopped with them. so there are ways of making the story pan out but thats beside the point anyway

Cane married his sister. Adam and Eve had other children after Cane and Abel. Adam and Eve had to populate the earth. We all are related to each other through Adam and Eve.
