There is nothing wrong in arranged marriage as long as you are aware what love is. You can always love and get married or get engaged and start loving the girl who is surely going to be your wife. In the first case you do not know the person whom you love will marry you or not and if she ditches you, you will be in pain for rest of your life. In the later option you get help from others to find your soul mate. And one more thing in either case as of today you are going to marry a stranger. Normally in arranged marriage you get enough time if you use it in the right context to find out if your partner is compatible or not. Many guys just get in to fantasy in the gestation period (time between engagement and marriage)and then when they wake up it is too late for them to read their partners and ultimately they find themselves in a distress. Use that time between engagement and wedding to understand your partner and make him/her explain your conviction of life. As mentioned by other readers you need to write down the point that you are looking in your partner but before that write down what are good and bad qualities in you. That will help you create your bio-data for marriage and it will also help you explain why are you so and so. One more thing do not go looking for the soul-mate girl on the streets, good family girls do not roam on the roads looking for life partners. I am not sure where you live but in India this is true for sure.

First you list out the qualities of partner for smooth running of marriage life. Then search about this qualities definetely you will get a good partner.
Assess yourself why you r hating arranged ones, apply these hating points in love marriages. You will get clear picture of difference of both and you will get conclusion wheather to go for arranged one or other (there is no way except love marriage).

Why arrange marriage? You should be able to choose a bride. Do you have your own community activities where there will be a lot of girls your age group? Maybe you meet somewhere there.

maybe you want to join clubs or classes of your choice... from there, who knows you will find the right girl...get to know as many people as possible...its good to interact and learn to know more about a person so that you'l know whether is she right for you... never ever get into relationships on impulse..just because you are attracted to that girl because she's pretty doesn't mean that she'l be the right girl for you...don't judge a book by its cover....

Why not take an English class. Then when you are able to speak English you will do better finding a bride. You may even find someone in the class.
