okay here the story I took my 9 yr old to the ER (the dr office closed 4 hoildays due to a red pussy eye and other symptom and they dx her with pink eye and gave her eye drops.....but everyone keeps telling me there seems to be more to it cuz she is also running a high fever(100.1-102 with rotating tylenol and mortin every 2 hr), sore throat and vomiting just plain out miseralble cant get much to stay down a little ginger ale and meds and but thats it and am lucky if that stays So to some it up I guess my question is Is it normal to have all those other symptoms with pink eye or do I have more to worry about

This is absolutely normal for a young person to run a fever and the other symptoms. It is just a very bad case of pink eye. Trust me, I would know (I got it 3 times this year!). Make sure that she gets plenty of rest and takes her eye drops daily.

Go back to the dr. She needs antibotics for these flu like symptoms. As long as she uses the drops, she is no longer contagious with the pink eye. As for the fever and vomiting...give her a sponge bath to lower the fever. As for the vomiting...keep her light as long as she has lots of liquids she;ll be fine. Use the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. That usually works. Don't rotate those drugs. Go to the supermarlket and get Dimetapp (cold medicine) for children which will give her some relief from the flu/cold symptoms. Then give motrin every 4 to 6 hrs. Call the dr. for the right dosage. I have two girls and this helps a lot. Good luck.

That's definately a lot more than pink eye. None of those other symptoms should accompany it. Not sure if there's much more you can do for her that you are not already doing, except keep trying to keep the fever down till you can get her to the doctor again.

I think you have more to worry about. I am a teacher and my students just get drops for the eye . The symptoms are usually just mucus on the eye and itching or burning.

I think she indeed does have pink eye but also a flu or a cold of some sort. Best to get her to a dr. and have them get her meds if she needs and be sure she's not deydrated.

I have never had pink eye. However, my cousin has, and she never had symptoms like that. I would take her to another doctor to get a second opinion.
Good luck. Hope everything turns out okay.
