Well you are at risk and so are your kids---------but there are ways of trying to help controlling it by eating right and exercising etc.

Sadly yes, you are at a high risk of getting it. I have diabetes and most everyone in my family does. My kids have it from my side and their dads. Talk to your doctor and be honest about how you feel. If you need to lose weight do it now!!! Your doctor can give you all the advice you need to try and prevent the disease. Don"t dwell on it and don't get stressed out, you just take care of yourself.

Diabetes is a condition that is not necessarily hereditary. To reduce the chance of your kids getting it make sure they get a good diet. Cut out junk food and sweets, give them fresh vegetables and lean meat. As snacks get them used to fruit and not chocolate bars which are full of sugar. For healthy eating advice and information go to diabetes.co.uk I did not follow these guidelines and in my fifties now am diabetic.
