Cooking, cleaning bathrooms, swabbing decks. Oh a sailor's life for you!

Hey how are you,

Well I'll start off saying that I have been in the military for the last 7 years and the info that I am putting out is through my personal experience only. First question you have to ask your self is what branch you want to go into. I would suggest looking at them all and figuring out what you want to do. The best possible thing that you can do to make the military a good experience is go to the recruiter knowing what job you want. Regardless of your ASVAB score, the recruiter is going to try to steer you in the direction that needs to be filled. If the recruiter tells you that what you want to do is not available tell hit that if he can't help you out than you will go to a different branch. A lot of times recruiters can pull strings and get you things that don't seem attainable. The other side to this is that you may have to increase your score a little. I think a 50 is the cut off for a lot of jobs, but getting a foot into the door is all that you need. Once in the military, it is much easier to re class. This happens a lot in re-enlistment contracts.

If the recuiter didnt tell u then no one will know but i think itll be a lot of jobs but depending on what u want to do because the asvab is not just one score its many different scores built into one there are 10 different scores that u would have to sheck its a very confusing process and u can look up the jobs on the army website and then ask a recruiter if u qualify for that job .... i hope i helped write back if u need more info

You should enroll in a commutiy College . Take some english and math classes to build your test scores. Not only will this help you get better trainning schools but , help you finish them. If you fail in school you will wash dishes and mop floor for 4 years.
If you can get 70 you will be able to get what ever training you want.
You will have an easier time passing the tests for advancement.
If you join now you will not be able to get a good school.
With a score of 41 you will get a job that requires very little training or skill. You not get a job when you get out and you may not be allowed to re-enlist because your scores will follow you during the whole time your are in and effect your ablity to do your job.
When I joined the navy in 1982 cutoff for the air force was 49, the navy was 35 and I knew people in the army with 19.
In the techinical program in the navy you can make e-5 in less than 2 years. You are e-3 after boot camp and e-4 after you finish school.
The miltary may even send you to college under the boost program.
Go Back to school!!!!

Your recruiter should be able to tell you exactly and it also depends on what branch you are looking to join. For Navy i believe the minimum cut off is 50 so you would have to check. I believe for Air force the cut off score is 42. Army the minimum is 35, i believe, and you would qualify for infantry and cook. My nephew joined with a 35 and he was infantry. There may be more then just those two jobs though, im unsure. Marines i have no idea what their cut off scores are, but truthfully, you might want to study and re take the test in 30 days. You can get some great jobs with a higher score and not be limited to certain branches. Good luck to ya!!
