depends on the family situation. I know a few stay at home dads.. a few stay at home moms.. I think a childs relationship with their parents is based on love.. and its impossible to say which parent loves their child more. Kids go through phases.. when my hubby was in college and was home with my son more than I was, he was a total daddies boy. Now that he is working and I am home.. hes a mommies boy. I think alot of it has to do with familiarity and comfort.. They say moms have a stronger bond with their children.. but I dont see why a dad couldnt have that same bond.

The number one parent depends on the family structure. If by number one you mean the teaching of children, in a two parent home, it is the mother. But there are exceptions to the rule. There should be no number one parent in terms of love and discipline.

Please understand I am a Christian but I believe Mary and Joseph from the Bible are. They both accepted a responsibility that was well beyond their understanding and they raised an exceptional child . To be that loving and accepting , to understand that their child had a calling and to not stop him make them the best in my book. The miracle of Christmas is not that a baby was born but that two human beings said yes to God against all odds.

My first thought was mom, but look at all of our messed up youth. Most of them have mom but not dad......so maybe the missing key is dad....so i say DAD
