my husbands family has had blue eyed generations for many years.. even some that have mothers or fathers with brown eyes, they still come out blue.. is there such a thing as a strong family gene, which are more dominant than others?

Yes there is. The only way to get rid of a gene that strong is either Bleach or Raid on the affected area. Good Luck ! :)

Definatly possible.
It will take you and your husband together to both present that blue eye gene to have a child with blue eyes. Dark eyes are always dominate. Both you and your husband who have dark eyes can have the recessive gene. It is very possible
