Out of six children only 1 has to have on shoes and socks all the time. I don't wear shoes if I don't have to. When it is cold I will wear socks in the house. There is nothing wrong with him wanting to wear shoes all the time.

I know some kids who wear their shoes all the time. I personally will go around in my stocking feet, but sometimes I get so busy during the day I will have put my shoes on and just don't even think about taking my shoes off.

My feet get cold easily and so I always wear shoes and socks all the time (except summer). I did it as a child, and I continue to do so now as an adult. Your kid might just get cold easily or just feel really comfy wearing shoes. If it isn't messing up your house, don't worry about it.

My husband and I both grew up in households where once you put your shoes on then they were on for the rest of the day. There were really no rules about it, just something that we were used to. We now live in Japan and rent a house that as a lease requirement has a no shoes policy. I actually like it better and will probably take this tradition home to the states just because its easier on the floors. My point is even though we are adults, we still need to respect the wishes of our host country even though we rent this house as our home. No matter who the person is, your kids need to respect the wishes of their host.

My niece usually always wears socks in the winter and no shoes in the summer. we encourage her to play in the grass and in the house without shoes so her feets don't get too tender.

No! Do you know what shoes can drag in the house? I mean think of all the places that your shoes go, in bathrooms that kids use (at school), the store, outside where people spit and who knows what kinds of sickness they have. And then think of all the things that kids do on the floor, playing and touching the carpet/floor and then not washing their hands and eating. Dropping food and picking it up and eating it. Yuck!!!!! It gives me the shiver just thinking about it. Then again I dont let anyone wear shoes past my front door area. If he insists on having shoes, buy some only indoor ones and dont let them outside.

depends... my son thinks that if we put on shoes we are going somewhere.. but once they are on, he likes to keep them on. If he wants them off.. he takes them off. He kinda decides for himself. I always have his traction socks on him (those socks with little rubber dots on the bottom).. because we have wood floors and they are cold... and the traction socks keep him from slippin and falling on his bum! Maybe you could get him a cute pair of slippers for wearing in the house so he isnt tracking the outdoors in :)

There's not a thing wrong with it. If it makes your child happy and he don't lick his shoes or the carpet to get those yucky germs then let him be!! besides its a benefit to you because if you have to go any where in a rush you don't have to worry about him having his shoes off
