I just though about that guy named Harry Trueman that died in the volcanic eruption of Mount St. Helens............

Harry R. Truman (October 30, 1896 – May 18, 1980) came to brief fame as a resident of the U.S. state of Washington who lived near Mount St. Helens and died in its 1980 eruption after stubbornly refusing to leave.

He was a resident of the Mount St. Helens Lodge at Spirit Lake, though not its owner, as is sometimes reported.
He became a minor celebrity during the two months of volcanic activity preceding the eruption, giving interviews to reporters and expressing his opinion that the danger from the volcano was "overexaggerated". Harry seemed to shrug off all concerns about St. Helens and his situation, at one point stating, "If the mountain goes, I'm going with it."

Indeed, he died in the blast, along with 61 other people, and his body was never found. The site of his former lodge is buried under ash and debris.

In the conversations I have had with them back in the early ninties I remember that they always used the Bible to answer, they will use your Bible if you prefer also.

The hype about them all trying to get into heaven in 144,000 limited spots is not true as most hope to live forever right here on the earth...........and so have I for the last 14 years.

Study with them. It's free. What can you possibly lose??

I read it while I was down at my grandmother's in Florida. It kind of insulted me, but I quickly got over it. One of my closest friends is a Jehovah's Witness; she's a pretty cool kid, too.

About the second question, I think everyone thinks they are right. Only those who've kicked the bucket really know! :P

Most important is what the BIBLE itself teaches, and Jehovah's Witnesses are well-known for directing attention to the bible rather than human tradition and philosophy.

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]

While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'

i belive they are, all of the information is based upon the bible, all the scriptures are there, and i belvie in god, and belive that a god of love will end false religion! oh and yah, 1914 was the year that jesus was inthrowned! thast the signifigance of the year 1914! daniel's prophesy leads us 2 that year wen all the math is done, the outcome is 1914!thast the year! and its really interesting wen u 1st research wutt the meanings are, the do all the math, that the year 1914 is the outcome! it works! thats the answer! it also said in the bible that 4 a short time, that the good word wouldent be preached, wasent the jehovah's wittnesse imprissioned duringing the 1st world war 4 a short periode of time? and hense the preach'n work stoped?

Is your life important to you? How about the lives of the people you love? In my opinion, no one wants themselves or their loved ones to die.

You should be open-minded about what the brochure says. It doesn't hurt for you to look further into it. If you don't, you are making a decision based on lack of knowledge. You might just miss out on something very valuable and you are not giving yourself a fair chance. Don't you think you deserve better?

Remember, how many people survived during the Flood in Noah's time? Only 8 out of the entire population. How many people survived during Lot's time in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah? Only 3, who were righteous and trusted God. Why so few survived in Noah's time? Because they were the only ones that took note of the warning.

Jesus said our time will be like that of Noah's. People will go on about their lives taking no note of the warning. See scriptures below. We can learn from these lessons of the past.

Matthew 24:37-39
“In those days before the flood, [people were] eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and THEY TOOK NO NOTE UNTIL THE FLOOD CAME AND SWEPT THEM ALL AWAY.”

Luke 17:26-30
26 Moreover, just as it occurred in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of man: 27 they were eating, they were drinking, men were marrying, women were being given in marriage, until that day when Noah entered into the ark, and the flood arrived and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise, just as it occurred in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building. 29 But on the day that Lot came out of Sod′om it rained fire and sulphur from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 The same way it will be on that day when the Son of man is to be revealed.

Also notice what Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-14, only FEW are the ones finding the road to life.

13 “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and MANY are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and FEW are the ones finding it.

Listen to the Bible and not the vast majority of the people. God cannot lie. You owe yourself a fair chance.

God's will is that "all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth". -1 Timothy 2:4

There is a truth. "The truth will set YOU free." - John 8:32.

True Religion...STRENGTHENS FAMILIES AND UPHOLDS HIGH MORAL STANDARDS: True religion trains husbands to “love their wives as their own bodies,” helps wives to develop “deep respect for their husbands,” and teaches children to “be obedient to their parents.”

True Religion is available, search for it.

Does any religion meet these standards? The book "Holocaust Politics" published in 2001, says "If more people practiced versions of what the Jehovah's Witnesses preach and practice, the Holocaust could have been prevented and genocide would scourge the world no more."

Indeed, in 235 lands, and 97,000 Congregations Jehovah's Witnesses do not just preach the Bible's moral standards, they live by them.
