I heard that Ni MH batteries have memory defect or something..can u please explain what that is?

the major difference is how long one is going to last. Li ion will last more that twice as long as Mi MH
Li-ion batteries do not suffer from the memory effect. They also have a low self-discharge rate of approximately 5% per month, compared with over 30% per month in nickel metal hydride batteries.
The memory effect is not as significant as NiCd batteries, but the still have that problem. If you're going rechargeable, go Li Ion
