I have a nine month old Boxer what can I do to stop him from eating plastic and paper?

Dogs need to have mental stimulation just like we do, that is why he is chewing. Get him a KONG toy (fantastic for chewers) and fill it with treats. There are also puzzle toys for animals. They have to nose the toy around in order for it to release the treat. You can find them at Petsmart.

I also have a nine month old boxer. I found that rawhides and bones help keep her mind off of chewing other things. Boxers have a tendency to get into trouble when they get bored or want attention. But, no matter what you do, puppies still get into trouble so I recommend using alcohol. Every time you catch him eating plastic or paper, you dab on a small amount of medical alcohol and put it in his face and in his mouth (only use a small amount). It will leave a bad taste and he won't want to put it in his mouth again. Make sure to say "no" at the same time. This was the advice of a trainer and a vet- it worked for me. Hope it helps.

this is the case for any type of dog (but not maybe not every dog). you just need toys or chew items for you pup as well as saw no and take away and replace what he eats that is bad. each time he does that his you can reward him taking a toy or chew stick/rawhide with praise or a treat. you can also spray things that are not damaged by alcohol with bitter apple and it trains him with time not to eat it, but give him something else to replace the thing he feels he is loosing out on

Buy him some of those huge rawhide chew things and whenever you see him chewing on things u dont want him to, replace it with the rawhide chew. Get the big ones so they last awhile.

Ist what puppies do. If you are consistent and let him know that that is not allowed he will get it in another 3-6 months.

say "bad dog" and hit him on the nose not hard don't hurt him just tap him on the nose everytime he does it.
