i dont think there is anyway to get over the fear of thunderstorms unless you sleep through them if they are overnight thunderstorms. If they are during the day, go to someones house and stay with them. I had a tornado come through our property i was 7 months pregnant and i woke up and it was so loud it soundedlike a freight train but i just went right back to sleep like a dumbass. the next morning, my whole pole barn was gone and 3 trees were gone. I am scared to death of storms now too.. i dont know why i wrote to you but i guess i am just telling you that there is no getting over the fear unless you get a script of valium or xanax to calm you down if you dr recommends it. you have anxiety toward thunderstorms so i would talk to a dr about something to calm your nerves and living in a mobile home doesnt help you out much either. let me know how your situation turns out.. sorry i was not any help.

Really, the only way to get over any kind of fear is to face it. Face whatever it is that scares you about thunderstorms. I am afraid of tornadoes, but we had so many of them this year and last year that I can honestly say that they don't bug me anymore. And to tell you the truth, a mobile home is just as safe as any other house if it's been tied down properly. The tie downs are made of steel and if they are in the ground far enough, your house isn't going to go flying. My dad's mobile home has been through quite a few tornadoes and it's still standing.

I am also afraid of thunderstorms. I live with my boyfriend in a mobile home and everytime it rains I leave and go to a house that I know is safely on the ground. This past month, while I have been there I have watched t.v. or listened to music with headphones on. Also I close the blinds. Unless it gets really bad I am fine. Just keeping myself busy really helps a lot. If there is any housework that needs to be done, just try to do it with perfection. The storm will be over soon!!

Do some research on thunderstorms, particularly in the area where you live. Your chances of being hit by lightning are VERY slim. If you come to realize this, it may ease the fear a bit.
